What's in store for you
when you visit
the Nose Creek Valley Museum?


•  A Geological display will show what's beneath your feet.

•  A Topographical Map of the Valley will show you how many one-room school houses, churches and community halls there were and the elevation of most area from Crossfield to the Bow River.

•  A Natural History display will tell you about the local flora and fauna.

•  An extensive First Nation's collection will draw you into the lives of this land's first inhabitants.


Life-like examples of a settler's cabin, Airdrie and Crossfield's first blacksmith shop,
Airdrie's first general store and a barbershop can be viewed.

•  A 4-H display depicts the local history of the 4-H groups in our area.

•  In the extension, built in 1992, one can see antique automobiles and farm machinery.

•  The Military and Technology Hall will show the history of World Wars I and II and some short wave radio,
telegraph and telephone displays.

•  Outside the museum is a fully furnished Canadian Pacific Railway Caboose on original rails, donated by the CPR.

•  Annual events for the museum are the 7th Annual Teddy Bear and Friends Festival. Nov. 26 - Jan. 7 Admission for the special evening hours will be by donation. This year the Teddy Bears and their friends are celebrating the 12 Days of Christmas. Visit the museum and see if you can find all 12 days.

•  Art Shows from the Alberta Society of Artists are frequent visitors to the museum.

•  Monthly Tea Parties last Monday of every month - Where the Young and Old of Airdrie can chat.

•  Admission fee is $2.00 for adults, children under 12 are free.

•  Fundraising is a year round activity at the museum. Volunteers make cedar furniture and donate the proceeds back to the museum. The museum also has 2 meeting rooms for rent.

•  The museum operates the Airdrie Tourist Information Centre.

•  New display for 2005 celebrates Alberta's Centennial.

•  Local history books available for purchase at the museum.

•  Hours of operation are Sept-May Daily 1-5pm, June-Aug Mon-Fri 10-5pm Sat and Sun 1-5pm

•  We are located at 1701 Main Street South in Airdrie, at the south end of Nose Creek Park.
