Need a Christmas gift for the person that has it all? It might seem lame to get someone an electric toothbrush but studies show they do a superior job to a manual brush. What better way to say "I care about your health"? I have this one myself. The sanitizing chamber allows you to clean the brush head after you've had a cold/flu so you don't have to throw it away.

Did you know many common mouth washes have an acid pH? This means they will help keep teeth soft and prone to decay, doing exactly the opposite of what they are supposed to do. I recently started using therabreath because it has a basic pH. More expensive than most brands but nice flavor and they make a grape flavor for kids too. Floss, then rinse and brush last to ensure cavity fighting fluoride toothpaste is not rinsed away.

Tooth erosion is a huge problem and we see it on a daily basis in many young people. If you have acid reflux, be sure to discuss it with your doctor. You may need medication to control it. Consume a careful diet and be mindful of things that might be very acidic, especially many common beverages. And never put citrus fruit in your water.
